British Columbia PNP (BC PNP)

The BC Provincial Nominee Program offers permanent residence pathways for workers and entrepreneurs who can contribute to British Columbia's economy. Current worker selection is targeted and invitation-based in key areas, so a successful strategy starts with the current program guide rather than old draw patterns.

Overview

What is the BC Provincial Nominee Program?

The BC PNP is British Columbia's economic immigration program. Through Skills Immigration, eligible workers can be nominated based on employment, qualifications and provincial labour-market needs.

Eligibility

BC PNP Skills Immigration pathways

B.C. currently identifies the Skilled Worker and Health Authority streams as principal Skills Immigration routes for workers, with additional initiatives described in the current program guide. Eligibility can depend on job offer, occupation, wage, employer, work experience, language and other criteria.

Key requirements

Job offers, registration and provincial selection

Employment

The job offer and employer must meet current BC PNP rules. Certain occupations are ineligible.

Registration and invitation

Where registration applies, minimum eligibility does not guarantee an invitation. B.C. selects according to current economic and labour-market priorities.

Targeted selection

Recent 2026 invitations have targeted areas such as care, health, veterinary care, construction, rural/remote health and high-economic-impact candidates. Priorities can change.

Application process

How a BC PNP Skills Immigration application works

  1. Confirm the appropriate stream.
  2. Review the employer and job offer.
  3. Register if required.
  4. Receive an invitation where required.
  5. Submit the nomination application.
  6. If nominated, complete the federal PR process.
Documents

Documents commonly needed for BC PNP

  • passport and status documents;
  • B.C. job offer and employer documents;
  • work-experience evidence;
  • education and licensing documents;
  • language results where required; and
  • proof supporting registration claims.
Selection

BC PNP invitations and changing priorities

Invitation thresholds are not fixed eligibility thresholds. They can change from draw to draw based on the invitation type and provincial priorities. Past scores should be treated as historical information, not a promise of selection.

Common issues

Common BC PNP application problems

  • relying on old stream or draw information;
  • job offer not meeting current rules;
  • using an occupation on the current ineligible list;
  • unsupported registration claims; and
  • changes in employment after registration.
